San Diego is a car-friendly, spread-out city — renting a car gives you the most freedom. That said, the MTS Trolley (Blue, Green, and Orange lines) connects downtown to Old Town, Mission Valley, and the airport's Green Line stop for $2.50 one-way via the PRONTO card or contactless payment. Trolleys run roughly 5am–midnight every 15 minutes.
